Dear Headmaster/Headmistress:

It pleases me to announce the 2010 RuJohn Foundation scholarship. The Board of Directors is adamant about youths receiving college education and will assist to ensure that their goals are accomplished. We understand that sometimes financial hardships can prevent students from continuing at the university level and hope to help relieve this financial burden with the 2010 RuJohn Foundation Scholarship.

We ask that you pass this on to students at your school who may be interested in applying for the scholarship. In order to receive the award, the students must meet the following requirements:

•Jamaican Citizenship •Completed scholarship application •Matriculation to a Jamaican University •2 letters of recommendation (at least one must be from a teacher that has   taught the student within the last 2 years). •Must show leadership qualities 500-1,000 word essay on one of the following topics: •Who do you consider your role model and why? •Why do you consider yourself a role model to others? •250-300 word essay on the topic: •What would you like to do to make an impact on the world and how will you   accomplish it?

Please take the time to carefully consider the applicants as the students will be competing with students from other schools. We have enclosed copies of both the scholarship requirements and the scholarship application. All entries must be received no later than May 31st 2010 and may be faxed to 954-752-4183. Awards will be given out on June 20th 2010, in Kingston.
